Birth and Early Life

Birth: Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Judea, to Mary and Joseph. His birth is celebrated on Christmas. The Gospels of Matthew and Luke provide accounts of His birth, including the visitation of the Magi and the shepherds.

Family: Jesus grew up in Nazareth, a small town in Galilee. He was part of a Jewish family and had several siblings.

Early Years: Very little is known about Jesus' early years. One notable event is His visit to the Temple in Jerusalem at age 12, where He engaged with teachers and amazed them with His understanding.

Ministry

Baptism: Around the age of 30, Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. This event marked the beginning of His public ministry.
Teaching and Miracles: Jesus traveled throughout Galilee and Judea, teaching about the Kingdom of God, love, forgiveness, and salvation. He performed many miracles, including healing the sick, raising the dead, and feeding thousands with a few loaves and fish.
Disciples: Jesus called twelve men to be His closest followers, known as the Apostles. They were to learn from Him and continue His work after His death.

Crucifixion and Resurrection

Last Supper: Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples, known as the Last Supper, where He instituted the practice of Communion.
Arrest and Trial: Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, tried by Jewish and Roman authorities, and sentenced to death by crucifixion.
Crucifixion: Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, outside Jerusalem. His death is commemorated on Good Friday.
Resurrection: According to Christian belief, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after His crucifixion, an event celebrated as Easter. His resurrection is seen as the cornerstone of Christian faith, symbolizing victory over sin and death.

Ascension and Legacy

Ascension: Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven in the presence of His disciples. This event is celebrated as the Ascension.
Influence: The teachings of Jesus have profoundly influenced Western civilization, shaping moral values, art, culture, and philosophy. His life and message are recorded in the New Testament, particularly the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Theological Significance

Son of God: Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, the second person of the Trinity.
Savior: Jesus' death and resurrection are believed to provide salvation and reconciliation with God for all who believe in Him.
Messiah: Jesus is recognized as the promised Messiah (Christ) prophesied in the Old Testament.
